Medical Scheme Changes Pending January 2014

Massmart
Massmart will be joining Universal Healthcare for 2014. There will be no stale claim period. Medscheme will process claims up until a process date of the 20th December 2013.
Any claims received with a process date of 21st December 2013 are to please be routed to Universal Healthcare.
Please note: This is regardless of the date of service on the claim.
 
BMW
BMW will be leaving Medscheme as of the 1st January 2014 and joining Discovery Health.
All claims for date of service 2013 will be processed by Medscheme and 2014 claims going to Discovery Health. There will be a stale claim period up to the 30th April 2014. Claims for 2013 received after the 30th April 2014 will unfortunately not be processed and will be rejected as stale.
 
Glencore Medical Aid Scheme (Xstrata Medical Aid Scheme)
Xstrata Medical Aid Scheme has changed their name to GLENCORE MEDICAL AID SCHEME effective 1/1/2014. All the other details including plan option number and routing of claims has remained the same.
 
Plan option changes
Fedhealth will be introducing two new options for 2014 and merging one existing option into another existing option. These options are reflected in the matrix attached to this email. It is important to note that at this time Council has not signed off on these option changes.

How to implement New Bonitas Tariffs

 

1) Determine whether or not your Medinol software needs updating

Go into Medinol -> Main Menu -> Files -> Treatment File

Check whether your Rx Code/Tariff AND Statment Code fields accepts 7–digits. If not, please contact our offices to upgrade your Medinol software

 

2) Add the new Bonitas Rx Codes to your Treatment File

Go into Medinol -> Main Menu -> Files -> Treatment File -> ADD

07326, 07327, 07328, 07329 – taking care to enter the identical codes in both Rx Code/Tariff AND Statment Code fields. The fee for each is R269.00

BestMed now reali-time live through MediSwitch

Dear Valued Client,

All discipline groups (excluding hospitals) can now send their claims in real-time to Bestmed.

The QEDI code for claims is still 045P and the MediSwitch Destination code BEBE0000.

Practices sending claims to Bestmed via MediSwitch can now receive online, real-time responses before patients leave the consulting room and, if there is any shortfall, the practice can advise the patient immediately. This reduces the practices’ financial risk and decreases their admin burden by providing greater management control which ultimately improves cash flow.
