NIMAS to merge into Resolution Health

Council for Medical Schemes has approved the merger of Resolution and National Independent Medical Aid Society (NIMAS) as of August 1st, 2012.

The rationale for the merger is the following:

  2. Better spread patient age profile
  3. Better product (includes hospital plan)
  4. Reduced need for increase in member contributions

    Hi There

I would just like to know if the cost of the premiums are going to be effected in this merger

    Hi Samantha

Premiums are “normally” established once a year, and AFAIK most medical aids have to obtain regulator (CMS) approval before upping their premiums.

    Take care
